Wedding Bliss at Byron View Farm
So, I thought it was about time I added to my blog. Now I will take you through one of the incredible weddings I have worked on since I have been a part of the Byron Bay Weddings vendor group.
I was lucky enough to be a part of Meghan and Rob's amazing wedding day by doing hair and makeup for Meghan and her beautiful bridesmaids.
The bridal party and I spent the morning getting ready at Byron View Farm in Byron Bay's hinterland, which had such a relaxing atmosphere and was just perfect for doing all the girls beauty prep for the big day.
We kicked off the day by prepping Meghan's hair. I gave her hair extra love by adding Showpony hair extensions to achieve the enviable ponytail-style we were going for. Using all my fave styling products from Kevin Murphy I got some awesome volume and staying power to keep those curls in. I then finished this look off with a Mimco hair accessory chosen by Meghan.
After hair, we moved onto skin prep and makeup. Meghan's skin was amazing so I used a few staple products which I love (note: the products below can be a bit rich on acne prone or more oily skin types, so check out my other blog entries for products more suitable for you if this is the case). I started with a mixture of Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream (this product gets the skin really supple and hydrated and ready for makeup) and Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz, which I applied to all of the high points of Meghan's face in order to create some dimensions. I then gave regular and blissful hydration with MAC Fix+ Spray enabling me to work the products into Meghan's skin as well as helping her makeup to last the whole day. Next I created a soft satin skin base with Armani Luminous Silk because hydrated silky skin is a must when applying makeup. Meghan wanted strong eyes and a subtle complexion and lips for her bridal look, so I used a combination of Tom Ford quad, MAC Pigments in Tan and Makeup Forever Star Lit Powder in Golden Pink . I like to mix pigments with Fix+ to give extra intensity to the pigment and really make the colour pop. I then added more drama with some luscious Velour Lashes.
Finally, I finished Meghan's look off with some MAC Bronzer and joozshed her lips using Vu Cosmetics Savoir Fair plus MAC Prrr and, if I do say so, Meghan looked even more amazing-er than usual on her wedding day.
Tip of the day:
To really get your skin wedding day ready use some Lonvitalite S2 Collagen Firming and Moisturising Silk Face Masks on the days leading up to your wedding. They come in a pack of 5, so I would suggest starting to use them 4 days prior, and again the morning of your wedding to really prep your skin beautifully.
